How it works

1

Draw or import your garden

Use the drawing tool to sketch your garden, or let GPS import the shape from satellite view.

2

Place sprinklers and define zones

Drag sprinklers into position, adjust coverage radius, and group them into irrigation zones.

3

Get your materials list

The app calculates pipes, heads and fittings automatically. Print it or share it directly from the app.

Why plan before you dig?

A well-designed irrigation system can cut water use by 30–50% compared to hand-watering or poorly laid sprinklers. The key decisions — sprinkler spacing, zone separation, pipe sizing — must be made before any trench is dug. SprinklerMap lets you experiment virtually: move heads, resize zones, check head-to-head coverage, and print a materials list before spending a single euro.

The head-to-head principle is the most important rule in residential irrigation: each sprinkler's spray must reach the neighbouring head. If the gap is larger than the throw radius, dry strips appear in the lawn no matter how long you run the system. SprinklerMap visualises coverage arcs in real time so you can catch these gaps instantly.

Frequently asked questions

Is SprinklerMap really free?

Yes. The core design tool — drawing, sprinkler placement, coverage simulation and materials list — is completely free and requires no account. Advanced features like GPS import require a Google sign-in so the satellite map can be loaded.

How many sprinklers can I place per zone?

The total flow of a zone must stay below 75–80% of your valve's maximum flow rate. With 15 L/min available and sprinklers using 2 L/min each, the practical limit is around 6 heads per zone. SprinklerMap shows flow totals as you place each head.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes — SprinklerMap runs in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, iPad and desktop. The GPS mode works especially well on mobile because you can walk your garden boundary and the app imports the outline automatically.

What does the materials list include?

The exported list includes: sprinkler heads (type and count), main supply pipe length and diameter, lateral branch pipes, valves per zone, and a filter recommendation. Prices are indicative and based on standard European market rates.
